This is not my first time playing this game. When it came time to do puzzle 14, I dropped a totem on the center of the mosaic and the gong piece appeared. I had a villager collect it and then it just disappeared. It was never joined to the rest of the gong and the villager had not dropped it anywhere else on the island. I did try dropping a totem on the center again but it does not produce another piece. Is this a glitch? Will I never be able to complete puzzle 14 in this game? It is not a big deal as it is not my first time through the game but it does feel a little incomplete without the gong

Quit the game, launch it again, and repeat the puzzle solution.
