Can anyone explain what it means or what happens when the Gong:
grants or takes technology
grants or takes wisdom
grants luck
grants or takes food?

Thank you

I have rung the gong 4 times so far and each time I got Grants Food - it showed an increase in the total number afterwards.

Grants or takes technology means the tech points go up or down. Usually only by a few so it is rarely noticeable.
Grants or takes wisdom increases or decreases a villager's skills. Sometimes it is the one banging the gong, sometimes it's a random villager.
Grants luck means an island event will happen in the next few minutes.
Grants or takes food either changes the amount of food in the food bin, or adds or takes away coconuts and/or crops.

How do you know that. I saw the first time I rang the gong and later the village food went from 1000's to 10's of thousand, the second time I did not notice anything, but when I came back every female of age had babies, wow 23 nursing mothers means a lot of cooing. I've got 2 sets of triplets, and 3 sets of twins. Did ringing the gong do that?

Yep, probably. "Grants life" is one of the results of banging the gong. There's also "Takes life". The only times I've had that, the villager who banged the gong turned into a skeleton on the spot.

I just recieved "grants vision" -- I didn't notice any difference to the villagers, supplies, or the villager who rang it. Has anyone been more observant? Or is this another just wait and see something else will happen down the road a bit?

Thanks. No I didn't check the graveyard, but it probably happened right after, so whatever is not there now. But I noticed before this occured, that I had tribe members going to the graveyard and telling jokes, chatting, and complaining to the tree where the petals fall. I thought that this was just a glitch. My people aren't going to start communing with the dead are they? They are pretty weird as it is. But they take after their "controller" don't they?

My gong just granted Wisdom - and turned the ringer into an Esteemed Elder! At first - I thought the gong had transformed my Rubie into a totem!! I was like WHOA!! I looked around to see if my pop. went down, then I moved it and she was there. \:D I've never witnessed an Esteemed Elder be made, I've always stepped away and they get all sneaky and POOF all of a sudden I have a totem. It was pretty exciting, esp. because I've never had a woman earn a totem before!! :D!!!

There is no Golden Child in this chapter of Virtual Villagers. He's in VV1 (A New Home). \:\)

Sometimes when the gong grants/takes food, I don't notice any change in coconuts, crops, or food bin? \:\(

when the gong grant food in the bin, it's difficult to notice something changing! the gong is stingy, he doesn't give very much food!! \:D the same when he gives tech !
