I have 3 VV1 tribes. All have a GC. I left them all running at 2x speed, haven't visited any of them for several months.

Today I looked in on them, figured they would be extinct. But no, they are all fine. One tribe has only 77 villagers, the others over 80. Thanks to GC they have masses of food.

Since no one has taught them any skills, it's surprising how many skills they have. Especially surprising that there are lots of children seeing as how no women show any parenting skill.

I am amazed.

I stuck around while they buried the rather numerous dead, then left them to go on without me for another few months.

I'll have to try this with my VV2 tribe, but I suspect they are less resilient.

I find that in vv1 the women will just go off and "breed" more than in vv2. As in vv2 hardly any of my women go off and "breed" by themself i haft to drag them on.

So that might explain why the tribe hasn't gone extinct.

Tick the parent in the job list. That should do it.

i've been told that if you don't check in on the tribe for a certain amount of time (2 or 3 days i think) the tribe kind of pauses itself

The events and decision boxes pause the game for you.

I've left mine for weeks at a time. But I make sure they have healers, especially for the little ones. \:\)
