Do I need to keep someone researching even after level 3 is achieved? It seems that I should but not sure why? You can reply direct if this is a spoiler. Thanks!

If you have attained L3 of all technologies, there is no further need for research. The villagers will usually abandon research on their own after you have 'purchased' L3 of every technology.
