My villagers have level 3 in all technologies, I have completed all the puzzles, but the kids in my village don't seem to find things on their own. Since I stated this chapter I have made it a habit to look over the whole village on occasion to see if there is anything that my kids can pick up and if I find one I will drag a kid over, but I thought that after getting level 3 in exploration I wouldn't have to do that as much, if at all. Also when I do find things now they are usually something that I have already gotten and are only good for tech points (which isn't bad, but still.) Have I done something wrong in the game that the villager kids don't find things on their own?

Nope, you have not done anything wrong Dezz. The kids will never pickup any collectables on their own, you will always have to drag them and show them where it is. And if you already have the collectable then you will get tech points for it. You will also find you will get more tech points for for some collectables then others.

Unfortunatly you have to always lead the kids to the collectibles, they never do learn to find and retreive things on their own!

I agree with eyshigh on this. If a game didn't need too much interaction from the user; why bother. I use the games as a way to fill up free time and to occupy me.

Yes, I know, I'm spending too much time on the games. Laundry can always wait.

We wish they did collect them but it would make the game boring.

Is there any secret to finding the last collection items. I am missing 1 uncommon shell, 1 uncommon pebble, 2 rare butterflies and 3 beetles (1 uncommon & 2 rare) left to find. I regularlly look around the village for these items, but typically the items that I find are ones that I already have. Is there a trick that you know about that I don't?
