I haven't read all the pages of this thread (only a couple) but wanted to add some suggestions....

Re: Parenting...
I agree that the fathers should help take care of the babies. Give the player an option via pop-up window "Do you want Unagi or Nofo to care for the infant for the next two years?" That way, if one of them is a Master Scientist or something valuable, you can base your choice on that.

Re: New Tasks/Capabilities...
In VV1, the villagers mastered the basics of foraging, farming, fishing, medicine, spirituality, and building/restoring structures.

In VV2, they further enhanced their farming and fishing capabilities through scientific advancements (irrigation for crops and eco-balance for the ocean). They also learned more about culture, exploration, cooking and medicine.

In VV3, I'd like to see the villagers work on communications. They could start with message-in-a-bottle or "tree mail" (like in Survivor). With level 2 communications, they could learn how to do smoke signals or something similar and with level 3, they could have some kind of primitive telephone lines or something. Then the villagers could send and receive messages from the other two villages on the island. Much like the gong, the messages received could have bad consequences or good ones. This new feature of the game would be similar to the island events, which everyone loves.

Another area they could enhance would be their business skills. There could be a farmers' market or a place where villagers sell clothes made in the clothing hut. An early puzzle would be to have the builders build the market and then have the farmers or tailors (a new skill?) bring their goods there. That could be a way of earning tech points. Now that I think about it, that's sort of mixing the Fish Tycoon concept with Villagers.

Some other thoughts...
  • More collectibles!
  • More island events!
  • More likes/dislikes!
  • DO NOT have the children's lessons in the same place as the fishing traffic, nursing moms and skeletons. Have a dedicated school area where the parents and children can interact, teach, and learn without being interrupted.
  • Let the children accumulate skill from attending lessons.

I would suggest that once population is maxed out in VV2 you get that annoying green sign. This is not necessary every time you try to get points for parenting if you are trying to get one of your villagers to Elder status and need parenting points. Enough already after the first time. Also when trying to get your poor elderly their last points..to gain Elder status....it is so discouraging for farming and building points to accumulate so slowly.....once they reach 60 I think working consistantly should accumulate points more rapidly....they need to enjoy their final years not work get close and become skeletons. It is sad!!!!

We need benches for the mums and a better food storage. I also hope the reaserch table is not so close to a hut, as in vv1. Give the children sandcastles to build and a school they can enter to gain skills at the job you set for them. Have monkeys and banana trees we can collect from. Have people from the other islands come and visite, how about the man who needed herbs to give us the next level in med techs.Lastly a bigger island with more houseing to increase pops cap and a musiam to comemorate the orinal islanders including vv1&2.

I would like to be able to spend tech points. It would be good if we need one more collectable that we could buy each collectable for a million or more points, but maybe this would make the game a bit boring for some and good for the people who can never find the collectables!!!

I think that there should be a counter for the children as to how soon they can start working (like with the nursing moms), only it should start counting down when child turns 13. For example, Wabu is 13 and you are wondering how much longer until he can start working, you could open his details screen and it would say "Time remaining until able to work: 23 minutes."

How about a way for the Builders to advance after all the buildings are built. Something like a rockfall that keeps blocking the stream. If it blocked it at a rate that would keep one person continually clearing it. You could have it similar to the Fire where it has Hours left. But in this case it could be hours till completely blocked. If a single builder keeps clearing it the timer dosn't change (Just sort of maintaining the cleared area) but if 2 or more were clearing it then the timer could increase such as 5 hours till blocked 10 hours till blocked etc.

Also have it so the children can learn from their foraging (Even at a slower rate than adults would be good) and can be set to pick mushrooms (Or whatever is collected) if they pass close to one on their general travels.

It would also be great if nursing mothers could do some work while nursing it would allow them to further their skills even at a slower rate while they are nursing. If mothers are still going to be the only ones caring for children then after they have 5 or 6 kids they should be master parents.

Along with shells, rocks, butterflies and bugs; it would be nice to collect birds, turtles, crabs

Palm branches swaying in the breeze

Banana, mango trees along with the coconut trees

One of the things I liked the most about VV 2 was the clothes hut. I really like all the clothing choices, especially the long fancy dresses. It makes me feel like I’m a clothes designer. I’m constantly changing my Villagers’ clothes. I’d love to see more of those and further choices added to the clothes. I’m glad that research continues after all puzzles are solved and that it serves a purpose.

Cloudy days, rainy days, choppy water during a storm, a hurricane on rare occasions where there would need to be repairs on the huts. I really would love to see it snow, but realistically speaking, islands don’t get snow.

More puzzles to solve

Let there be a small hut for children to go to school, it would be nice if it had a bell hanging from a pole that you could ring once a day for children to attend class. The bell could be a puzzle needed to be solved; like finding it buried by the shore from boat debris.

I would like to see builders carry palm branches to build the roof on their huts.

It would be nice, since we get to name our tribe, that there could be a sign fashioned from the wood on the wood pile, that the villagers could place somewhere on the island and carve the name that we chose for the tribe on it with their spears.

I apologize for any repeat suggestions.

Maybe if a suggestion gets repeated, they will see that it is not just a concern for just one person, but the whole VV-playing community.

They need to make it so that you can built a hut on whatever you like this should applies to other things e.g. food-bin also Huts should have some sort of "Life" as time pass the "Life" will slowly go down unless a builder take care of them.
