This morning, all 64 of my villagers were dead. The golden child is the only one still alive and there's no food. I thought they weren't harvesting before if the game was off. anyone know what happened?

Oh, running a treo 650.

I assume from the number of villagers that you had (including the Golden Child) that you were at level 3 of harvesting and that your villagers were fishing. It is possible to lose your villagers under some circumstances. For example, if your farmers got sick and weren't healed (sick villagers don't work). If there was no food, and the game was on fast speed, you could wake up to dead villagers. It would have to be something drastic like that to cause them all to die, though. It's also possible that something else is going on - it's hard to tell without more details.

The Golden Child is supposed to be invincible, so that's probably why he/she survived.

I had the game on fast speed. went to bed with over 2000 food in the bins, but I have no idea of what else happened. Every tech is at level 3, and I had all types of villagers. I'd even moved the scientists to farmers so that food levels would increase.

65 villagers could easily consume many thousands of units of food on fast speed overnight. Tests have indicated that the villagers aren't as productive when the device is switched off (and we are working to improve that situation when the game is updated). It's possible that they all starved.

Most of the beta testers learned that it isn't always 'safe' to leave the game on fast speed overnight.

I thought that might be a problem... is it time to just "restart"?

One thing I noticed is that things seem to go bad when I turn my plam off while running the program. It seems that the sims don't work so hard when I do this. I have found that the best way is to select menu, then hit my home button and then turn my palm off. Then when I restart VS my food bin is in good shape and my tech points have increased. It seems that when I power off while still in the game, when I go back the bin is always low or on E.

The villagers are definitely less productive when the device is turned off (or when you leave Village Sim to run another app). We are working on improving that situation. Arthur intends to release an update to Village Sim at some point.

I'm pretty sure that Carla will come up with some way to notify registered users when the update is released!
