What if the food storage problem was one of the puzzles in VV3?

there could be a limit as to how much the initial storage could hold, thus also limiting village growth, or it could be that the food spoils relatively quickly if it isn't somehow washed/prepared and put in a different storage device...that would also allow villagers to gain skill points (maybe in parenting) and add a level of difficulty to the game

at the start the villagers could only have a woven basket they brought with them, and that could hold a max of 300 food (or some other low number) and once the settlement is established they could have to build a better storage device from wood or stone, maybe some sort of stone cooking pit, if there is someone assigned to cook then there would be a lower incidence of illness...

(Hope this isn't innapropriate)
I think instead of nursing for two years, they should be pregnant for 9 months and then nurse for 15 months. It adds up to two years, but it makes more sense.

Very sensible and realistic Jazzo but can it be done?

Well, they already have the villagers growing from little kid to grown-up to grey-haired elderly. Why can't they make the mother get a little, well, bigger?

i prefer it the way it is

it is a bit on the ambiguous side so that parents can choose what they tell the little ones playing the game

some of us think of the love shack as an adoption agency or as the stork pick up point

and making the moms look pregnant would be a lot more than making then grow up from tiny tot to adult, it would take a whole new set of graphics

the system they have now works, so why fix it?

Think of this: if a little kid was playing VV3 (and in the tutorial they always show you how to breed villagers), the kid might think that she grew fatter and not have had a kid. Or, they might freak out.

But it's possible! They could do that by getting female outfits/actions and make them a bit bigger.

It's a good idea, but would it be good for the younger audience?

Yes, that's true. A younger audience might not understand, unless they have little siblings of their own that they can remember the birth of.

Besides, it might affect the rating of the game.

How about the mum is pregrnat for nine months, then she can carry it in a sling on her back or her side, allowing her to work.

Then, let her nurse for a year and then put the child into a sling. As a mum, I know first hand how handy the sling is. She can carry her babe and still work.

i would likea sound off/on option

there are times when i want to play the gmae, but i have muisic playing in the background in yahoo or something, and the village interrupts a really good song

it is a pain inthe patooty to have to change the controls like i do now every time i decidee i do or do not want to hear my village, and it would just be so much easier if there were an off switch
