My oldest villager, Samuel Founder, lived to his 70s even with only lvl 2 medicine, but I was really sad when he died. I encourage breeding of that type of villager and think of them as his descendants. I also tend to become fond of the doctors, mostly because I pick the "handsomest" (someone get me a straitjacket) male villagers and dress them in my favorite outfit (the *really* colorful one).

I'm always sad when one of the two villagers who fell down the waterfall dies. The fact that they are older than the rest usually means that they will be the first to go, so the impact of their death is harder. I always amend the standard wording on their tombstones to include the fact that they were founders of the tribe.

Oddly, I also find myself particularly attached to villagers who have negative dislikes; ones who hate fish, or turnips, or running. Those who succeed in becoming masters or Elders in spite of their dislikes I kind of admire; it's rather like admiring those who succeed in life despite a disability like blindness.

Wow. That was so inspiring. It's the same with me; I've got one guy who has a bad case of teenage angst, but he's got tons of skill in multiple areas. Elder someday? It'd be kinda ironic, but cool.

Yeah, I think we all do get a little attached to the villagers we find special. I find I get a little sad whenever a Master Parent dies, especially if I've had them teaching the children over a period of time. It's like losing a beloved village parent and teacher all at the same time.

2 of my favourite villagers died and I was very sad... odd to get emotionally attached to a computer game character, but so glad I'm not alone

its easy to get attached because in some ways, thanksto very intricate coding, they have personality

plus, esp in the early stages of the game you get to know the villagers, you nurture them

i think of them like little fishies or hamsters as pets....they aren't quite the same as another person, or even a cat or a dog, but they sort of become part of your routine, and you care about them and their well being

I actualy shed a tear, when my first villager died. I felt so sad that I started it again. Now I just take pictures of my fav ones. I try to make them all happy. None of my villagers have been under 75yrs wheb they die, except one child. She was 7yrs old and was bitten by ants, or some thing like that.

Glad to know I'm not the only one who does this! In my first village, there was a girl that I instantly liked, and I wanted her to be my first elder. I was so sad when she died before that happened!
