Having played vv1 and now vv2
and encountered many glitches
that the promised patch was going to fix, actually probably will never appear

I will advise this , only advice as a player mind I dont work here etc

so
1. to start researching... building the hut is wasted, you need food and collectables and mushrooms
get you kids hunting for all , dont worry about I have that one, that one will get you more tech points your researchers can earn in an hour
ok aim for first goal
build the dam
buy level 2 engineering.. build dam ... stop panicking about food because unless you have made 18 babies , you dont need farming , the dam completion provide 3 master builders to solve a puzzle and you now have crops even if you still aint got the algae
2, now you need tech points for the next puzzle , while you are doing nothing send out a tribe member to study the strange plants and still grab all the mushrooms and butterflies you can
3. well now its up to you the kids have grown and you have 3 elders I'd but L2 medicine and get one have a baby so you can earn tech points from finding things

3. level 2 exploration buy that ... see we still dont need coconuts, we have enough food.. and we now get the cauldren make stews have fun
4 . still hunting for the collectables now a populaition of 13 maybe get an elder... your reseachers are now also master farmers so let them work on the hut while you send the kids out for more tech points to buy l1 and 2 culture , but at this stage its a personal choice, some peeps feel the need to nave the science tech others the medicine but save farming unless you have rampant rabbits as villagers then you will need L3 farming!

I really hope someone can give a totally different view on this, because this game is different to all who play

I notice alot of players often say you don't need L3 farming but I disagree - even though technically the crops provide sufficient food if you have less than 15 population, the problem is you need to babysit them alot when they have limited food because they grow weakened alot when food is scarce, and then I find myself making the stew to restore their health every few hours.

Plus you can't expand your village to more than 15 people if you don't have unlimited food yet.

So I try to get L3 farming as soon as I can, then I can increase population and get them going on the various projects because I don't have to worry anymore about them dying of starvation.

I agree Sharon, I usually buy L3 farming before I buy even L1 Culture or Exploration - one I have it, I can have all the villagers I want to earn tech points to buy other stuff.

I usually go... science 2.. exploration 2.. builidng 2... then farming 2 and 3.. then i have a huge population boom and when my population hits max i worry about finishing all the puzzles.. get lots of esteemed elders of similar age at one time that way...one of these days that strategy will work and i;ll get past 50 elders lol

Go for collectibles right at the start, and keep looking as much as possible. One duplicate common collectible is worth 100 tech points, earned in a few seconds. It would take five master scientists more than twice as long to earn that many points.

I'm with arnie. Collectables right from the go. I also usually try to only have one *active* farmer at a time until I've built the dam.

Yep. I usually start at a slow speed (normal speed in my case) to minimise the villagers' food consumption and allow my only farmer to build up a decent stock of food. When I've around 500 I'll switch the farmer to research or building the dam. Food levels can often be nearly maintained at that level with help from the mushrooms. Once the dam is finished I'll switch to a faster speed (usually 2X) to speed the appearance of the crops. Often I can leave the original farmer on research for a while longer, but after a while farming will again become a necessity.

Only after the dam has been completed will I even think about having a first baby.

I have been checking on and off with the leader board-(Vv2) I am unable to see if I have made any approvements in the standars, I can't seem to place anywhere on the board. Could you please give me some tips on what I am doing wrong. Thank you so very much: Tonie

i generally wait until last child is 11 before having another baby

i use my kids to collect mushrooms for the food - shells, and butterflies for the points. Meanwhile I start all adults researching. I try to get science L2 first, then i go on and get what i need to build the dam.

if for some reason the kids don't look like they are cutting it, i'll start the dam early, training only one person for the job, and ocassionally have one of the researchers fish.

i always leave the game on 1/2 speed at least until the dam is complete, frequently longer
