I preferd vv2, but with the layout of vv1. I think combine the two, and you'd have a great vv3.

If I had to chose it would definitely be The Lost Children. But, if there is going to be a VV3, we all know that will be even better.

I think I prefer the overall look of the VV1 village buildings. That in VV2 is a little too "polished"; too well-built for a small tribe to be able to produce. That said, the overall graphics effect in VV2 is stunning, better than in VV1.
I prefer playing VV2 because there is more to do while the villagers are getting on with things. The addition of the collectibles has given the kids much more to do, and made them very important to the game. Finding them also adds interest for the game player, who would otherwise be more or less a passive spectator for much of the game.

I'm not sure I could choose
The GC totally drives me nuts in VV:ANH, but I love some of the challenges, plus the art has a totally different feel to it. I really love the cactus and my pink haird girls (yes yes, we all know I'm weird). I also like that they draw the water from a well and NOT where they wash thier feet, and their babies. I love being able to call the children to school, and I think it is hilarious to watch the little buggers walk on water (although I do love being able to isolate them in VV:TLC). I like the plants/herbs better in this one too.
In VV:TLC first of all, I love that the acronym is TLC, because that is what the villagers need, especially those poor abandoned children in the beginning. I also love the mystery: where is Tofo, and where did all of the adults wander off too???? The puzzles are totally different, and the first time through it was a real challenge. I'm not as crazy about the art, partially because I miss my pink haird girls and partially because for some reason I have it stuck in my head that the beach looks like perpetual twilight. I do absolutely LOVE that the children are genetically smilar to their parents, and that it lists who the parents are. I also love that the children are able to collect more than mushrooms, and that doing so can have a real impact on the growth of the willage. I love being able to have more events because of the Gong, although I wish that the events were more like the normal ones. Also, I do like some of the new villagers hairstyles, although I am not crazy about others.
To me it is hard to choose which is better. It would be like loving one child more than another, and the villages I have are like children to me, in a way. I really do care about their health and well being. I check up on them whenever I can. When I just went out of town for a week I fretted over them a bit, even though I knew they could take care of themselves. I get upset when my little villagers pass on in both games, and my only really complaint is that after 50, we don't get tombstones or any kind of memorial.

I just started VV 2 a week ago, and I think I am going to like V 2 the most. I like the caring for the babies more, and I like the fact that the babies resemble the parents and that the parents show up in the detail-list. My idea is that there is more of a social life in VV2. And lots of other things: - people get grey hair as they grow older - villagers fish with a spear - the collections - the way children play and their role in the game - the drawings - the sewing hut - the mysteries about the adults and Togo - the drawings - the eating sound And I especially liked the fact that the beginning of the game is less "raw" than in VV1.
