Hi, I am fairly new to the game. My son bought it with money he got for his birthday and I'm the one that got hooked!!! LOL

What does a Golden Child look like and does it say somewhere if they are the GC? I have one yound child who has a complexion very different from any of my other villagers (I have 33) but I don't know if she is special or just really tanned or sunburned.

2nd comment/complaint/frustration: Why do I NOT get mushrooms frequently until my crops have finally come in rather than when they have 30-50 minutes until crops are ready? As soon as the crops are grown I will get 10 or more mushrooms in a few minutes of play. Before the crops, when every one is hungry, all I seem to find are collectibles. Aaarrrggghhh!

How long does it take to make a master builder? I have one man working on a hut non-stop (except to eat stew or get drinks). He started out with about half a builder bar and has been working for about 20+ hours of playing time but is not yet a master. Is there any way I can speed up his education? Got the same thing going on with a farmer. Any tips there?

Which VV game are you playing? 1 or 2?

One does not have collectibles, and two does not have a Golden Child.....so I am a bit confused.

If there is a GC then it's VV1.

Yes, I am confused. I am mostly talking about VV2 but thought I saw in a forum info about the GC. I must have been reading about VV1 at the time and not remembered that fact. My VV1 family is not doing so well so i have been mostly playing VV2 (32 villagers w/ 1st death recently of matriarch at 69 - she helped many men become master parents! I will miss her.)

Same thing here basically, My son told me about the game, I found VV2 first, got hooked and then got into VV1.

The Golden Child is in VV1. On the details screen it says Golden Child - he's in a gold cape and he's bald. He's the only villager that's born at 5 years old and stays that age.

I played and played with my first village on VV2 - and it seems to me anyway, that if you leave the game play on 1/2 speed, they seem to get more done when you quit out of the game and leave them go for a couple of hours on their own and then come back. If you are playing on the hard setting I don't recommend that as much, as its much harder to keep your village healthy, but on easy and normal once you have a decent food supply and have your people trained in the tasks you want them to work on for a while, they seem to do better than when you are watching them.

If you have it on 1/2 speed it can take longer, since its a real time game. (to get a master builder)

My GC seems to pick the mushrooms does any1 elses??

Mine does also, but he "hides" the mushroom in a pocket, so you don't see it while he is going to the food bin. But if you watch, you get the food points for the mushroom.
