I read the FAQ. none seems to apply. I can go immediately from VV and VVII and VV will refresh and VVII will not...I'm talking less than a minute.

This is the most likely cause. It happens occasionally, and eventually the server will be back up.

As sfrose has said, the second answer (⇒ The stats server is down. You will not be able to update stats until the server is back up.) explains the situation right now. Each game has its own stats server function. One can be down without affecting the other one. I'll check the server and fix the problem within the next hour.

I only tried updating my stats once my pc froze for about 5-10 minutes

and unless you have some way of cheating or played the beta , and have 52 elders there is no point as you wont make it onto the leader board!I have collected 600 mushrooms , had a max population of 117 had 12 set of triplets had over 2000 hours play but with only 50 elders that died a few months ago then there is no point anyway unless LDW decided to have a fairer leader board!

I don't understand the limits on the number of Elders. I can understand only getting 50 totems, they clutter up the island, but why can't the count keep going as far as the Elders are concerned?
