Hi. I'm new here, and I hadn't seen this question asked before.

I'm not asking about elders per se, but I do want to know how to get my villagers to live the longest span possible. My oldest villager so far made it to age 82, but it seems like other people have gotten older villagers. What are the best ways of keeping them alive?

A lot really depends on luck. However, scientists and builders can hurt themselves during their tasks, whereas farmers, doctors and parents don't seem to get damaged in this way. I generally switch the older villagers to farming if possible, unless they only need a little of building or research skills to become an Esteemed Elder. If they are already an Elder I'll not set any tasks and let them do as they want; they've earned it!

Arnie, I let my villagers do whatever they want too.

How long they live also depends on certain levels that you have purchaced with your tech points. You can find more on this in the guides section.

I was also wondering the same thing. I tried my best to keep my villagers as healthy and happy as possible. I've also kept them from doing the more hazardous tasks when they've gotten older.

The best I have done while actually taking care of my villagers is 94 years old. No matter what I did, I couldn't make the old man live any longer. I actually saw the old man die before my very eyes! He was walking from the food bin to go admire the gong, when all of a sudden when he was just past the fire and near the research table, he disappeard... and a skeleton appeared near the fire. I clicked on it and yep... it was the old man, hehe. \:\(

The thing was, once my graveyard filled up and I coulnd't keep track of the ages of my dead villagers, I relied on the Stats page to keep me up to date on my oldest villager. My oldest, according to the stats, was 101. So I guess you can't really control much on how old you can get them to live... you can only do so much. I'm sure if you play long enough, you'll experience the same, where you'll get a villager over 100 and you'll never know about it until you check the Stats page, hehe...

I found that when i didn't have any villagers trained in healing that my villagers died at around the age of 78, but now i have train doctors all the time and they seem to live into their 80's my oldest villager is only 84 though.
