Hello, new here. Love the games. I bought vv1, loved it, so I downloaded the demo for vv2 from ldw site. After my 60 mins was up, it threw me out.
A day or two later I bought the game from ldw site. I unlocked the game and it took me to the game I was playing on my demo.

Problem was that when I was chucked out,the game was never paused and I never thought to try and pause it, I dont know if I could have. But I get in and I immediatley get these messages about one person is an esteemed elder and the coconuts are running low, and all my peolple are dead.
THis all happened while I was gone. I just wasn't sure if this was normal. It seems like there shouldve been an auto pause after the demo ran out or else why bother being able to continue the same game? Sorry I didn't do anything about saving the game log, but I'm pretty sure they all starved \:\(
Also, not sure if I should post this here but it seemed like getting the coconuts was a waste of tech beacause they run out and the fish don't. Does anyone have an opinion on this?

Hi and welcome. Really is a pain when you play the demos on various websites and get rudely booted.

When I was playing the demo I made a note of the time I started and made sure I paused the game and exited exactly 59 minutes later. ;\) I'd been forewarned by similar happenings in other games.

Mind you, I didn't have long to wait for my unlock code, so my villagers might have even survived without me. In fact, I think the first couple of times I played I suffered wipe-outs, so they couldn't do much worse.

Although it's a little disconcerting, what you describe is normal when there is a delay between playing the demo and purchasing the full version. Unless you were to completely uninstall the demo and remove the savegame file, the game will pick right back up where you left off, and the real-time engine will continue to operate at whatever game speed was set when the time expired. If the elapsed time is too long, disaster usually strikes. \:o

Arnie's suggestion is a good one, but you'd have to know in advance what would happen when the 60 minutes was up.

Coincidentally, I played a demo game (for another game) yesterday. When the 60 minutes was up I was given the choice of buying the game immediately and being able to continue where I left off, or losing the game. I chose not to buy it at that time, but at least I knew the option.

LDW have no connection with the trial version in any case. That's down to the games supplier (Big Fish or whatever).
