Thanks Arnie, yes I left the game running. I see the pause option. So just pause, quit, backup my files, when I come back tomorrow and restart the game I will be right where I left off.

Leaving the game on the Menu screen does not pause the game. You might want to check out this answer in our Support FAQ, which explains more about pausing the game.

Thanks for all the help, I get it now. I just found 1500 food too, so this game is going far better already than the last one. 3 runners working on the dam should move things along a bit more quickly this time :).

I started with 2 (one adult runner/worker and a 12 year old runner), but the 1st event converted another one to a runner.
