You can't reply in the guide section (I supppose with good reason) but the entry for the silver mirror island event is incomplete.
I had my villager speak "sunimeg" and he was duplicated. I don't remember exactly what the text said, but it was something like "Ayu sees his own eyes in the mirror and then it shatters" And lo and behold I now have two Ayu's, same age, same skill level.

which was pretty cool because he was my only master farmer.

As it says in the introduction to that thread in the guide: "This thread contains lists of Island Events and their outcomes that fans have submitted. These lists include events that have been experienced during game play and are not comprehensive or complete. Since Island Events can have unpredictable outcomes, you may experience different results from what is contained in these lists."

The list of events was created and submitted by someone who played the game (as are most of the contents of the Guide) and contains only the outcomes that he experienced. Many of the events in Virtual Villagers: TLC have multiple outcomes, or even random outcomes. No list will ever be complete or necessarily correct for any specific occurrence of a given event.

We don't edit user submissions to the Guide section (especially PDF documents, which are typically not editable). Since his list contains valid outcomes for each event that he lists, it would also be inappropriate to remove it.

Anyone can submit a list for inclusion in the guide. See the "Help this site" thread in the guides.

I have had different outcomes to the silver mirror too. Sometimes nothing happens at all.

That event is very strange, I think. In my game it happens to Ipo who said "Sunimeg" and the text said: "The mirror shimmers briefly, like a pool of water then suddenly shatters into a million tiny shards. However Ipo is astonished to find that he is still staring into his own eyes!" (I noted it to translate because my English is so bad!)
And now I have a totem, named Ipo, and I can select it because it is in the list of my villager. But, "it" is still 9 years old, (Ipo is now 30 y o) at 90% healthy. I putted it in a corner of the village and tried to forget it. But to day, a new event happens: the totem-Ipo is a prodigy chid!! I choose to let him play and now "it" has some building skills!! But what is the use for that? May-be I must wait that the real Ipo becomes "Esteemed Elder" and has a totem??
What do you think about that? I don’t know what to do now.
