Okay I already know what you all are going to say, but I can not say no to babies!
I started a new game on the hard level. The game no sooner began and a whale was beached and remembering how my last village almost starved to death...
Side bar: The berry bush was empty and I had to continually run a child around picking mushrooms while waiting for the adults to get enough tech points to upgrade my farming making sure to make another baby before the one I had turned 12 so we would not run out of food. I still have this village alive (not complete) but the villagers are so worried about food they will NOT stop farming. We have had 9 babies born and I have a total of 9 villagers but I have over 5000 food available, everyone is checked for research but they just want to farm...LOL We are dealing with it!
Back to my dilemma... I started a new game on hard and immediately got the event/option of harvesting a beached whale for food. I did not even hesitate we ate him. I do not know if it has brought bad karma but of course these villagers have to be constantly prodded to farm now because we did no farming in the beginning-(we had plenty of food). This seriously is not a big deal; the big deal is that I keep getting crates with babies in them. I have my 5 original villagers who have NEVER made a baby and 6 children running around. It is not helping with the food situation and I am sure many of you might tell me to NOT open the crates, but when the crate is painstakingly sealed (or whatever the wording is-you know what I am talking about) I KNOW there is/are babies in there and I just can not shove the crate back into the ocean.
I guess I do not have any questions I just have to share this bizarre island we have landed on and all the new/exciting ways that things can suddenly cause an unforeseen epidemic. I was purposely not making babies until we needed them to finish the puzzles (or repopulate if my kids start getting old/sick).
The nice part is that it keeps you guessing and far from becoming bored. Happy surviving!!!
