Well, then, the only thing you can do is wait.

Regarding 'lost villagers', are they vanishing righit at the moment when they are released from your grasp? They just vanish?

And is their disappearance reflected correctly in the population count? That is, they are really gone and not just invisible?

Well thanks, I'll just watch them run around then until he/she shows up!

Arthur, the reports I've been seeing have indicated that the vanished villager's details screen is gone - that's not consistent with them being invisible (and you know that I've "seen" plenty of invisible villagers!). Also, people are saying that the population count in the overview map is not right after the villager 'leaves.'

Wow! Scareee! When I have my GC, I think I better let s/he does his/her own stuff. The other day I visited this forum, GC goes missing near idol. Now s/he will also disappear near the boulder.

Hope Arthur can solve this mystery soon! It's like Arthur & team create mysteries in VS for us to solve and VS created mystery or mysteries for Arthur & team to solve in return!

Arthur... I just had two villagers dissapear (gone from the village count as well). Some were taking care of the dead and two were trying to breed. I picked one up to drop her on the other and they both dissapeared. They were both to the right of the well in the "sick" field. Hope this helps.

In other cultures, I believe this is called "Nirvana", when a couple is so enraptured that they just transform into pure energy.

I think I saw that once on an episode of Outer Limits.

My Village has a law where women are allowed to leave their babies outside of the police station or fire station of neighboring villages. When I notice that a child is gone, I question the mother and usually she confesses to having done this. We find this policy beneficial to child health though it seems superficially contrary to our other "No Child Left Behind"-related policies. While this is normally successful, we have found instances where mothers apparently pack their children in barrels and abandon them to the sea. The proper authorities are investigating.
