Happens sometimes.

If they brought it into the hut right as it was at the end of its timeline (about to disappear) this can happen. Get them faster and you won't have this problem.

The collectable not showing could be because you have already collected one, it's a doubler. On the plus side you do get extra tech points for a doubler.
