It's practical. But it might cut down on the time it takes to become a master or complete these tasks too much (make the game too much less challenging). But then, if they had to make all the trips to gather in the first place, then yeah, I guess that could work.

I like the idea I read earlier about having smaller gaps between tech levels and having more of them - like 5 levels of each that you could purchase instead of three.
