how do you build them up faster? I am never going to get level 2 and 3 if I go this slow...

You can have your kids pick up collectibles - some of the duplicates are worth a lot of tech points. \:\)

The more people that you put at the research table the faster the tech points add up also. But LadyCFII is right some of those collectables can add a lot of tech points. I won't go into detail but they are quite a bit. But that is the game. You have to stay focused on the game at some point. Even though you can walk away some times you still have to come back to check on them to help them. You are the leader above anyone of the villagers, without you they will all perish.

It also makes a difference as to what speed you have your game set to. You'll earn points faster at faster speeds, but the villagers will also age faster.

I'll also wait on buying lower cost upgrades until I get L2 Science and other until I get L3 Science. The Science upgrades really do help you earn tech points faster!

Also, make sure that your village has a fire, since that will add to your tech points.

No, that's a reasonably long time to be further along I think. Myabe a slight change of strategy... investing in the techs that will assist getting tech points faster (science and exploration), and maybe you need to spend a bit more time hunting collectibles. Getting a couple of rare ones really bumps up your points.

I did all the puzzles and maxed out on population without level 3 science or exploration, I may just spend some tech points on those but after over 1500 of play I aint bothered, and I found the last collectable too , hmm should I buy it? erm no!!!I dont like spending when i can get new frock instead , actually saying that , what a waste of space the sewing hut is!! who cares what they look like I mean who cares, its just a building project for adept builders then its an ornament , I seriously dont buy and dont intend to. hmm and my 3 adept builder gained nowt anyway ! still same as they where before, that hut is a waste , should have been a school , or a museum or something interesting!

Pinkfish, I think you have to allow for other people liking the sewing hut and the ability to change clothes. No game is going to give any ONE person everything that individual in particular likes. So may I suggest you enjoy those aspects of the game that you enjoy, in the sure knowledge that other people are enjoying other aspects.

They gain an additional point at regular intervals during the game (you can check your log)

Just my opinion I bought the game , I think I should have the an opinion, to most males points I I read rarely utilise the hut and I am female but really dont see the point, just ones own point of view, but if you are stranded on an island with lots of men I wouldn't be bothered what I looked like, i might want to build a boat to explore though, to me the sewing hut may as well be "lets build a Macdonuts" or any store that rips you off, the hut I personally dont get , its just me I think I can say that I dont get it ?

the sewing hut has practical uses...it is nice to be able to quickly identify doctors

i use it to "uniform" my people, so i can identify them quickly...it has nothing to do with fashion for for making my villagers look attractive for the opposite sex

bajantara I hope you weren't thinking I was doubting that. Normally when I ask a question it's because I didn't know it.

like I said , its just my opinion , given the software and the genius to re create this I would only change a few things:
the hut to a? well something more useful for survival, maybe a boat yard that takes 6 months in real play to build , then you get your money worth and play ability and keep the builders on the go and their kids,

sorry i wasn't trying to diss this game I bought it!! but the sewing Hut is still rubbish lol hahah rofl!!! well come on its a cop out!!

as for tech points get collectables they always worth more than tech points
when I totally played my first 2 villages I had all collectables and more and elder, I reckon pause game if they need food , collect mushy's and collectables for points and food, I say keep population low and be patient..yes its boring and tedious but we get there, now I wish i wasn't on strike from playing ( waiting for patch) because next time I will not play it the way i did before, and I think that says it all we al play our way , some like organised uniforms others like organised peeps with their own personality I met them with!!

i'd love to see a boat yard or something like that in one of the future vv games, but i totally want to keep the ability to change their clothes

my current vote is that it would be more of a trading hut, where you could change clothes and buy a variety of items that open up as you hit certain milestones, whether they are useful in gameplay or are decorative (head transplants anyone?)

the beauty of a game like this is that there are so many ways to play the game and be successful \:\)

I tend to agree that I don't like the sewing much. I've only used it on occasion. To see what it does, to show someone who was curious about the game, and onve in a while I get a villager whos clothes just don't suite them!

But in one game I put off building the sewing hut for so long that I had every other building project finished first! At that point the the builders just ignored it, even though it was 29% finished. I'm leaving it that way since not having it built means my exercising villagers don't get distracted by window shopping \:\) (i.e. they can complete thei laps.)

Pinkfish, I'll also save L3 Explore for last, but I usually get L3 Science early, only to speed up the tech point collection.

I agree that everyone is entitled an opinion. I believe the developers appreciate them and give each one consideration. There are some great threads about game ideas, likes and dislikes. You should certainly add your suggestions to those threads. (My opinion? I like the hut but not fond of its placement \:\) )

About the tech point accumulation...have you looked at how many researchers you have at the table and their skill levels...these things affect accumulation rates.

Also, rememeber that the more experienced a scientist is, the faster he or she will earn tech points. A trainee gets only a couple of points each time s/he is successful, but a master gets 19-20 (at L2 Science tech).

I had a female villager who was like this, one baby would no sooner be running away and she would be pregnant again. Ironically her name was Moma! She was my one and only masterparent.

I like the sewing hut, I use the uniform method of identifying what villager should be working where. When they become elders the women get a nice following white gown and the guys the snazzy white sarong...

Great idea the boat house or similar for VV3.

I dress my male and female doctors in the white outfits. When anyone gets to Elder status i dress the women in the long pink looking dress and the men in the black martial arts looking outfit. I only redress some if they look silly in what they come into the game in. I like having the sewing hut, it helped me get some of my lazy builders bars moving up when building it. Then use if you want to or not afterwards. It's there just in case you fancy using some of those tech points up when you've bought everything you need to. I hope we have something like it in VV3 also.

I LOVE the sewing hut. I have multiple games running, so in each game, I dress the workers in different outfits according to their job preferance at the time. If I see a trainee farmer at the research table, I can quickly figure out he should be farming, and take him back to that task.

Having different color outfit combinations in each game helps me keep my training schedule organized (thus enabling me to have them reach master level quicker).

I suppose I'm a bit mean about spending tech points on new outfits - silly really as there's nothing else to spend the points on. I'll change a doctor's clothes to white, but that's about all. Often I'll pick a villager to become a doctor simply because he or she is already dressed in white.

"Tell me, young man, why do you want to train to become a doctor?"
"I've already got the white uniform."
"Good. You're accepted." 8\)

I'm a new player, three days. Getting tech points is really slow and at this rate it'll be Labor day before I get past the lowest level.

Is there something I can do to speed up the collection of tech points - not cheating. Right now I've got three game children two or three years old but not old enough to collect collectibles, and what are they? There are three people working on the tech table. I can't figure out where to build or how to build the third hut, or any other buildings.

I'm in need of a lot of help, thanks.:)

all children can collect them until they turn 14

the other buildings' foundations will pop up with the purchanse of specific tech levels

Children are able to collect items and mushrooms as soon as they quit their mother's arms. If they don't, it could be because the collectible is under the way to disappear.
