I have only been playing VV for a couple months, Had two villages in VV1 at max population, On VV2 I had a village at 100 po with only a few collectbles left to find, a second village at 90 pop with a lot of collectibles to find, started a new village last thursday playing it different this time and had 31 villagers with 8 elders, today suffered a slight powercut and though I have the power surge plugs on pc it went off, so I restarted the PC but just had a blue screen saying boot dump exceeded, tried restarting it still the same thing so rang the pc helpline, they told me what to do but a message came up and the guy on the phone said there is nothing that can be done, I had to restore my pc to factory settings, so I have lost everything, some stuff like uni work I had backed up but stuff like microsoft office and norton I have had to buy again, lost most of my music around 2000 tunes cos itunes when I redownloaded won't reconize them, but I am most gutted I lost my villages

Will redownload the game and start again but I can't believe I lost my first villages I loved them! \:\(

Two practical things for the future: 1) Partition your drive into at least 2 partitions and use the smaller one for your data. Very often, even if there's a physical prob with the disk you can get data off the 2nd partition, and 2) BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP!
