Today is my twelfth birthday--five years since writing my first letter--and I'm full of strength, mushrooms and determination.

I truly believe that I'm going to make it to adulthood, though it's quite lonely celebrating my birthdays with only the shells and insects. In the next two or three years, I should have enough knowledge to build a scarecrow and save my garden from the birds.

I'd also like to thank everyone for reading my letters. Your kind words and ideas have really eased my loneliness here on Isola.

Dear Mahalo,
I think you will make it. I nearly cried when I read your first letter.
You never know someone from the other village might come looking for their missing friends that fell down the waterfall and find you.
I am rooting for you, only 2 more years and you'll be able to pick coconuts, keep jumping and trying to reach them and one day you'll get them.
P.S. Is this the first village you have lived in?
