I love the idea of chickens in VV3....forget the mushrooms.....have a crate of chickens wash in.....make it so the chickens are free range, yet breedable....you can have the children collect eggs or leave them on the ground hoping they hatch. Perhaps eggs not collected get rotten and cause illness in anyone who is near them when they dissappear .....so it would be a good idea to collect them, unless you think they are fertilized and are going to hatch into chickens.....and the chickens could be picked up and added to the food supply....perhaps 3 food points for an egg and 10 for a chicken....

Marriages... I want monogamy!!! I'm tired of all this *sleep with whoever*. What does that teach children?
Of course, if their marriage partner dies they can get a new one.

It is hard to find places for the totems....how about small idols to be placed on an inlaid table by the reasearch area, and once you have 10 (or any preset number of creator's choice) something happens....perhaps extra population allowance, or higher birth rates per pregancy so more are working, but population grows or decreasing the time it takes for crops to grow) Once the table is full, the idols or icons dissappear and you fill it up again for some other good thing ....The totems are getting a bit deep in VV2

VV1 Had destruction....something to take all the food away.....how about putting that back into VV3 as well as destruction of buildings so the villagers have something to work on if you are nuts (like me) and run the game for a loooooong time. (I am still running 3 villages of VV1 which I purchased 3 days after it's orginal release. I just can't bring myself to kill off those little cuties, they work so hard to keep going) Not to meantion it would make it more possible to get "Master" level in 3 areas then it is after your buildings are all in VV2

Have nursing mothers gain parenting skills as they wash/change/show the baby things. Also, have fathers interact with their children with the mother. They can gain parenting skills this way.
That way you don't have to have a guy create 40 babies to get master parent, and a woman can finally achieve master parent without having to have peak population to prevent her pregnancies.
It would be wise to include an option for switching breeding on or off for each villager, this way you can set their preferred skill to parenting and if you have set breeding to "off", they will parent but not breed.
With farming, there are often multiple sources of food available (for example, coconuts, fish, crops). It would be useful to be able to tell the villager what ratios of food you want them to gather. For example, suppose I want Tutu to harvest 30% coconuts, 30% fish, and 40% vegetable crops. This will ease the strain on coconuts and vegetables. Of course, the villagers would still do other things, like laundry, but when they farmed they would obey the ratio setting for the village.
This can also apply to building, for example, 40% to building the new hut for the village and 60% to creating a dam on the stream.
If you add these improvements, devoted fans will be rewarded when they experiment with the best ratios, and those who don't care enough to bother with them won't notice.

I love the hunting idea and having teachers for the children. I think teaching and hunting should have to be purchased with tech points. Also fishing skills should be as they are now in vv2 to start with but again you should be able to buy the ability to use nets or boats to fish. It would be good if the village elders were given something like a shell or bead pendant so you know which villagers have become elders with out clicking on them.

Great minds think alike. I colour code my villagers too. But that does not help when you are at the start of the game as its too expensive to change clothes when you are still saving to buy culture etc

Once a villager earns that Esteemed Elder status, could he not be immediately adorned with a feather headress to signify his status? There enough parrots to donate feathers..lol
What if a random event was for the villagers to uncover the remains of an old plane crash? Builders would have had to uncover it....Farmers would have to clean it out/salvage it...Scientists research the spoils..(Popups could give options of the outcome such as:)...Perhaps doctors could discover some useful medicines?..Farmers find useful tools..or something to allow one chosen nursing mom a special "Master Teaching skill. To enable this choice, the game has to have at least one current nursing mom and the player could choose which one to give the skill to? Builders need to chop the firewood for the fire instead of endless supply..it would help build their points. Children born with some predetermined skills, should be able to gain points in that skill each time they watch the adults working at it, but at a much much slower rate than the adults, until they are old enough to work.
