I like playing mainly to get island events. #1 How often do they show up? #2 What are the best events to get? #3 What are the best choices: drink or pour out/ open or push it back in the ocean?
I hate to get events that have neither a reward or consequence: like the one with the moth or the heat wave and everyone goes swimming even the child-I thought they couldn't swim.
Please post your favorite events and your choices if any.

opps my bad, i didnt see you had posted in VV1 section, but as far as i know there is not a thread of this sort, i did look through to see if there is one, but i couldnt find it, but the basics are the same, some of the more specialized events wont be part of it. There are events in VV1 that arent in vv2 as well, like the big wave, leaves more wood on the beach that you will have to clean off again. Theres the heat wave, thats the same for both. theres different Viles you can choose to drink, some are good some are bad, some just change the apearance of the villager. Theres the one about the book of isola, theres two way it could go, read it loose a villager as they go seeking what theyve read, or leave it for reaserchers and it dissapears. theres no sacks, but there is crates, anything stained damaged or such words that can be used for that definition, are bad, tightly sealed etc are great. theres tons more that you can get, if anyone else can remember an event please post it here, but you just have to follow your gut, and if the worst happens, you will remember for next time.

There is a pretty long thread discussing VV1 Island Events here.

I love the one when the boatman asks if he could collect some herbs. If you say yes, your medical tec goes up to the next level. I also like the one where a sealed crate lands on your island, if you open it, you get a treo of lost children. It saves using adults for mating when you need them eslwhere.

I have been playing VV2 for a little over 400 hours....honest hours..and I have had only maybe 3 of the minor events happen. Like where a bag is noted in the surf, do you or don't you open it. I haven't had any of the Love note or child prodigy happen. Any idea why?
Thanks, Mompea

I have been playing VV2 for.. you are in the VV1 forum over 400 hours...only had maybe 3 of the minor events happen. I read somewhere that for every 24 actual hours of game play there should be an event, but that has not been my experience either. Like where a bag is noted in the surf, do you or don't you open it? read the VV2 Guide forum post that lists the island events. some events have random outcomes but other events there is no randomness - one answer will always do one thing and the other answer will always do something else. I haven't had any of the Love note or child prodigy happen. Any idea why? just the luck of the draw. if you want to have those events happen, read the thread on saving and restoring your save files and when you get your next event, save the file then exit VV2 then restore the file then restart VV2 and you will get a different event. you can continue this as long as you like. This procedure is how Esteemed Elderly was able to get all (almost all?) of the events and document them. This note, entitled "How to Get the Event You Want," by Esteemed Elderly, explains in detail how to do this. His method also works for The Gong Effect as well. perhaps for maximum fun, I would consider what Esteemed Elder suggested - play the game at least once to completion without resorting to tricks. Then you can go back and use his method to see all the events you missed the first time around.
