This is a known _bug_ that LDW haven't been able to reliably duplicate or eradicate. All you can do is rename your villagers again. The _bug_ also exists in VV1, although it seems to happen more frequently in VV2.

When i get a toddler who has the same name as a villager close in age i take 2 letters from each of the parents & make a new name ie: Keli & Aika had a son with same name as villager a few years older, so renamed him KeTa. Bindi & Tatoo had a daughter same name again so called her TaBi. I do have a few with same names but they are 2 or 3 generatins apart like Jade, Jade2, Jade3 ect.

Again my strangest name experience would have to be the father's name was Kenobi and the son's name was Obi (I posted a pic in photo thread). But generally if I get a duplicate name I either just add a letter or similar to jlb67, do a combo name of the parents. In RL - I have a cousin that named her child the same name as her older brother. And it's Micheal, so it's not even an uncommon name! So Micheal had an Uncle Micheal (by blood)

that is not uncommon in my family we have 6 or 7 men named Jack on my father's side. i gave up long long ago on worrying about inbreeding. they don't actually get the mutations and become deformed, so its not a big deal to me

In another post, I described making a last name out of the first three letters of the parents' names. Two funny results ended up as Ima FatBob and Kayak AteBob. I kid you not! I've also had Obi, Wan and Kenobi show up in another village. My personal fave is Ima FatBob. And how cool is it that there is actually a Wan to go with Obi and Kenobi. Were any of them wearing the white two piece, karate like outfit? Y'know, the jedi gear?

I had a set of twins called 'Obi' and 'Kenobi', but the one I thought was the most apt was a girl called "Moma" who went on to be a master parent LOL
