I am loving playing VV2 and my kids love watching me play. I even got a friend hooked and she is just trying out VV1. Anyway, I've been reading all these ideas and most of them are wonderful, some prolly wouldn't work and others wouldn't be appropiate(i.e. cannibals, fighting) since kids do enjoy/play the game. Some of the ideas I never would have thought of. I know you all are prolly tired of reading the same things over again and again so I will try to just add new ones. Then maybe comment on others in another post.

~I would like to see the children gather the mushrooms by themselves to help with food, especially in the early stages of the game when food is limited. I think having to help the kids get collectibles is still the way to go.
~I would like to see the clothes cost less tech points at first then increase as your villagers learn more. I had so many villagers coming out looking alike and having the same clothes it was confusing.
~Would like to see more of a range of characters...needs to be more different looks. Maybe crazy hair colors: green, purple, blue
~Would like to see families stay together. Moms and Dads could decide when they want to have more and maybe go indoors theirselves or have something to tell you they are ready.
~Would like to see villagers live longer. I'm sure island lfe is hard, but mid/late 60's seemed a bit soon to me.
~More for the Healers to study. Once they get adept, they stop studying the flowers and just wander around swimming, eating, drinking, it's aggrivating.
~Kids could do drawings, make necklaces/bracelets, pick flowers for parents, play something other than tag, chase butterflies, splash each other in the stream.
~Have villagers decorate their huts with flowers, shells, feathers, etc.

That's all I can think of for now. I would like to see a longer game if 3 is going to be the final installment. I hope that the developers will read all these wonderful suggestions and actually make them a part of the game. It's fun to see the gamers ideas come to life. \:D
