If all of my 50 elders who actually got totems have been dead for weeks, is it still possible for me to get additional elders in that village as a result of an event? I have villagers who are Masters in at least 3 skills. Or do you have to still have villagers with the "Esteemed Elder" title" Thanks. Mary

Hi, guys. Excuse me, but what event are you guys talking about? I've had my game going to about a month and a half and can't get more than 50 elders. Yet, I'm puzzled because my rank isn't #1. So, I'm sure there's another way to get additional elders, but all of mine are dead. Please fill me in!

MrsChuckieRich4, you might find out about this event in the Virtual Villagers - The Lost Children Guide. And look for the thread called "Island Events List".

Either I'm blind, or it's not there. Give me a hint?

I've forgotten what the event is. But I don't think it's called "The Day of Elders".

I didn't see anything that eluded to the possibility that you can get more elders.

That Island Event List is the events that were found by the player. So it's not a complete list.

I have a different theory, unrelated to island events, as to how people can get more than 50 Elders.
When the game has been closed and is reopened it 'plays catch-up'; it checks how many tech points have been gained, how much food was collected, etc. If you look at the game logs you will see that all this catching up takes place with precisely the same timestamp. Among the things it checks is how many became Elders while the game was closed. Now,if a player has, say, 49 Elders when the game is closed, and the game calculates that another four have since reached that rank, it will be unable to say which was first, so makes all four Elders, giving rise to 53. Of course, since the 50 limit has been reached, no further Elders can be created.
