I, like the majority of you have been playing this game rather consistantly. My wife says I need to attend a support group. I have noticed a few "bugs" if you really can call them that. The one thing that perplexes me is the Gong of Wonder.

When you get someone to bang the gong, I have noticed that it will generate a few different things. It can generate a green cloud, which I presume is bad just like the stews. It can also generate rainbows, again, like the stews would be a good thing. The 2 other things I see are gold sparklies or once I saw pink leaves.

I have seen my villagers get sick from the gong and I have seen my points (food or tech, I can't remember) go down but for the most part, I cannot tell what else happens.

Does anyone else know what happens when you bang the gong. What happens when you see rainbows? What happens when I see sparklies? (Not the ones I see when my wife whaps me on the back of the head when I get too involved with my villagers) Or is there a place I can read what the consequences are?

Oh, on a side note. I found it rather sad and disturbing (literally) when I got a certain "Island Event" that killed a 6 year old. That wasn't cool. I suppose I am a freak for actually feeling sad over a computer generated person but I was.

When you bang the gong, keep the villager who is about to bang it selected. And watch the bottom of the screen (the line below a villager's action). And you'll see what it granted.

Gee, now I feel dumb. That was an easy answer. I don't know why I didn't figure that out myself. \:\) Thanks for the tip.

There's a long thread in the forum called [SPOILERS] Ringing the gong that discusses a lot of the (good, bad, and indifferent) outcomes of banging the gong.

Thanks for the link to the other thread. I was looking but couldn't find it. I was sure someone had mentioned the gong before.
