Hi everyone who has completed the gong, please help me with the last piece in the waterfall.

I tried the strategy posted, made a stew from the black, the red and the orange plants. I let anyone who walk by eat the stew. Some of the villagers who eat return to their normal tasks, others went to enjoy the pond. But those that went to enjoy the pond did not dive to retrieve the last piece of gong.

I tried letting them eat, and then forcefully drag them to the waterfall, it does not work too.

Do I need to get a villager with a specific skill to do the job?

I buy my version from MSN Games, if you need to know.

SPOILER - HIGHLIGHT TEXT BELOW TO READ

After feeding your villager the special stew pick up and drop your villager in the pond. You mention the waterfall; you just need to drop them in the pond. Your villager should then climb out and dive in from the rocks and retrieve the sunken gong piece.

The black flower and 2 orange ones worked for me. You'll see little star-like things floating just about the stew; and when a Master Builder eats it, drop him in the pond. He will put the gong piece in place also. Other villagers won't do that.

Thanks. I think I messed up this part. Might have disturbed the villagers after they have eaten or no master builder was there when I made the stew. I will start a new game and see if I can get it this time. Thanks again.

A master builder is not required to retrieve the sunken gong piece: any adult villager will do.

Actually, Rain, I have done it with villagers who weren't builders. Any villager of any skill level will work. Must be 14+ however.

Should say that they feel no need to breathe after eating, then drop that adult in the pond.

Hi, I've had other villangers dive and retrieve the gong piece too. But they won't place it in the gong. They put it in the research building.

The villagers won't put gong pieces into the encasement unless you've cleared the way for them -- they put the piece in the research hut for safe keeping until the encasement is clear (and they'll put the pieces in the gong when that happens).

Hi everyone, here's the update of my experience. I start a new tribe, and after I got the cauldron, I made the magic stew. No star-like things were on the stew, but I made my villagers eat it anyway and forcefully drag them to the waterfall. None of them dive to get the piece of gong.

Do you have to buy up to level 3 of Farming or something before making the magic stew?

You're making the wrong stew. The one you listed in your first post is incorrect.

Irina, did you get your game from Reflexive? If so, what was the date you got it from them?

Help, please! Can anyone tell me how I can get more than 50 elders? Also, yesterday, I rang my Gong and it said, "The Gong grants vision." Does anyone know what that means?

Tess, I used the long black plant near the waterfall, the red one on the mosaic, and the orange plant below the hospital. If they are wrong then which are the correct one?

opanlink, you need to get 1 black vine & 2 lots of the orange flower to make stew to breath under water. Hope this helps. Jane

You can't; that's the limit (apart from a very unlikely set of circumstances). See the several other threads on this topic in the forum.

Too late now, but if you get 'vision' again, look in the graveyard...

From what I have read in other threads, no. But, it does show something close to that.

Jib67, thanks! I've got the last piece of the gong out of the water! And all along I was thinking it might be a _bug_ or something.

You need level 2 exploration, complete puzzle 1 at least one of the flowers mastered. Take an adult villager to the cauldron they'll say preparing a stew. Drop the villager by the cauldron again, Adding food to the stew, next Adding water. It will say 3 herbs needed. Add two orange flowers and one black one. tthe villager will eat the stew and say NO NEED TO BREATHE take the villager to the waterfall the villager will go under the water to get the gong piece.

No levels of tech required. What you need is a stew made from the black flowers (northeast) and two from the orange flower (south and center). Then, after a villager eats it, place him in the pond. He/she will climb out and dive in from the platform to retrieve the gong piece. Be sure to let him climb out and dive though.

Actually, you need level 2 exploration to be able to find the cauldron.

Yes, I found out that anyone can dive and place the gong piece, not just a Master Builder.

Just exactly what does Level 3 Exploration give us? I could ring the gong without it.

Not much. The only extra is the ability to see collectibles in Map View. Since I hardly ever look at the map it's always the last (or last-but-one) tech I get. Level 3 Science is similarly of little use. By the time it is reached there's only the sewing hut to spend the extra tech points on.
