How do you get rid of the algae in the sea! ANd now that I have the right recipe for the stew, (one of the blak flowers and 2 ofthe orange flowers) I STILL can't get my Villagers to dive for the piece in the pond! Julie

a master or adept scientist has to be dragged into the pond. it should say "geting algae-eating fish" or somthn like that

You have to have level 3 of farming to get rid of the algae. Then you put either a master farmer or master scientist in the pond to get the right fish. I usually put several in at a time so the same villager doesn't have to walk back and forth. Are you having a villager eat the stew then putting him in the pond to get the piece?

Just to clarify, that will change depending on what speed you have it at, and she means 10 times for the algea eating fish,

it should only take once to get the gong peice, but yes it has to be an advanced scientist. it will say retrieving somthing from the pond, after you feed one villager the stew, and picking them up and placing them into the pond.

Is it my imagination, or does the algae come awfully early? I've only managed to accrue 3000 tech points on the arrival of an algae broom in my second game (I HATE to waste 2000 on those blipping coconuts, too.) ARGH! I'm reduced to mushroom-wishing. (singsongy.. in the voice of a VV1 fan.. "here mushy mushy mushyyyyy").

That depends to a great degree on the level of difficulty of the game. There's a fixed number of fish you can catch before the algae arrives. On Hard, it is a quarter of the number for Easy, and half that for Normal level. I generally play on Easy and usually don't get algae until after the crops have started being harvested. In a couple of games, where I was lucky with events that gave me food, I was able to reach L3 Farming without the algae arriving.

Oh, thank you! I didn't even notice my game setting, I thought I was on "easy" and it most distinctly was NOT!

I do have mine set to easy and still the algae came after only about 3000 tech points. do I just have a [censored] version of the game or is there anything I can do except watch them all die?

When the algae appears is related to game level of difficulty AND to how many fish have been taken. It has nothing to do with the Tech Points earned. For example, in Easy mode, more fishing is allowed before the algae comes along than in Hard mode.
