OK, I played my first game of VV2 and found all of my collectables in about 48 hours of play time. Had so much fun doing the first game, I thought I would start another game, so I did. That game has been running for 962 hours, and all the puzzles are finished and have been for quite some time, and no red star seashell has appeared. So I thought that maybe it was stuck or something and starting a new game might fix it, so I did. That third game has all the puzzles solved and has been running for 200 hours now and no red star seashell in that game either. I have had 30+ of them in the first game (running for a little over 1100 hours), but none in the other ones. Is this a glitch or are they just THAT RARE?

I am on another game and I have yet to find a dark green butterfly. I have everything except that one. But on my first game I had pleanty. Except it took me forever to find a blue one,but eventually it came. You can stay and look forever but turn your back for a second and you can miss it.

its rare. RARE. thast means it doesnt come up a lot

I have had one game where it was my first sea shell and others when it was my last.

i got lucky on my game and it was the first shell to show up for me
