My villagers keep watering crops rather than fishing. Since there's like 600 minutes until crops grow again, it's kind of pointless, and my food stores are going down.

Is there any way to keep them fishing aside from manually dumping them in the ocean every time they start watering again?

If you aren't low on food, check them to do something else in the meantime.. otherwise, it's going to be a manual effort until the update, I'm afraid

Yes, the villagers will gain farming skill from any work that they do on the farm.

This is aggravating to say the least. We build the dam to supply the crops with fresh water. Why do we need to water the crops too? Curse you developers.

At least they are doing something. If there can be no fishing and there are no coconuts available what should they do when no crops have grown? At least watering helps gain farming skills.
