I've been playing the game (downloaded it from Pogo.com) and it's very addictive. But before I buy a copy I wanted to check on some things. I see folks mentioning that you can save 5 villages. But I don't show any "save" option, and I don't have a slot for 5 villages, only the one, so far as I've seen - though maybe it's on another screen I'm not aware of? There is a "new village" screen, but I'm afraid to test it since I don't want to lose my present village, which is doing moderately well.

So do I need to buy it from Pogo? (If I don't, will it not accept my present village?) Are there patches I need to download? or does Pogo or the one from this site come with the latest updated patches already?

Anything else I need to know?

It's possible that your current savegame file would be incompatible with versions of the game from other sites. You won't know for sure until you try it (there's a backup procedure here, so that you can back up your game before you try anything "dangerous.") No updates to the game have been released yet.

To start another village, go to the Menu screen and click on "Change Tribe." You will see 5 slots that you can use to play 5 games simultaneously.

Lemur, I don't know how far along you are in the game but I would recommend you buying directly from LDW.

I bought the original VV from Pogo through Oberon Games. Fortunately, I never had any problems. From my time here on the boards, I learned how prompt and helpful the LDW staff are. If you have technical issues or even how to play issues; they are there for you and the forum community is the best group of people I have ever encountered.

There might be a way to back up your game (not sure since it is a demo) but you'll find out soon enough because someone will be on to let you know what would be the best way to purchase.
