It only happens in my game when the "Appearance Time" for the Collectible has expired.
I've only had problems with Gems in the "Ancient Place" and I've been told that the Experts will be sorting out the problem.
that is what happens to me too.
I get so excited put a kid on the collectible....and what do you know it was "timed out"
I know, that is so annoying. I've had that happen many times (always with the rare items it seems).
