The parrots keep eating my crops! I was able to harvest the first 2 batches but now the very second the crops become available it says the parrots have eaten them! It doesnt even give me 1 seconds chance to harvest them..

I noticed that whenever I leave the game screen to look at a villagers details or my collectables, techologies, or anything for that matter is when the parrots show up, soon as i come back to the game they are in my garden and i have to shoo them away with a villager. So i even went the whole 2 hours once without leaving the screen and the parrots never once showed up and it STILL said they ate my crops!

How Do I get around these pesky parrots? I'm out of food and still need 45,000 tech points to get my 3rd level farming technology.. HELP!!

It's one of the puzzles. A good way to solve puzzles in Virtual Villagers is to take various villagers exploring aroud the island, especially after tech purchases, and watch for messages about what they see. Keep in mind that villagers with different skills will see different things. A scientist, for example, will notice things that a builder or farmer won't see, while a farmer will see things that the others will miss. Also, the more skilled your villager is, the more they will be able to see.

I started my first game over for the same reason. All my villagers died because the birds ate my crops.
And I finally figured out what I had to do. You'll get it. It is actually one of the puzzles.
