I managed to solve the missing gong piece, so here's how

downloaded the trial version of VVII from Here.
Run VVII in trial mode from the default folder, it will find your save files, drop the totem in the middle of the Dig and the piece will appear then switched back to the reflexive Version and low and behold the missing piece is there.

Anyone else tried this and got it to work?

I am downloading the file now and will let you know if it works. I have dial up and right now it has 2 hours and 6 minutes before it is done. Just hope I don't get kicked off line before it finishes. Keep your fingers crossed. lol

How did you get on with your download, i remember being on a 56K Modem absolute hell, i also had a 2 hour cut off

ok at the risk of sounding like a total computer idiot, how exactly do i run the trial version from a default folder? my final gong piece isnt showing up for me in the mosiac and i've put all my totems in the middle lol.. so i really dont want to start over, so if you could give me a tad more detail in how to do this i'd appreciate it, I'd rather be safe then sorry and try to do it myself without more info and mess everything up.

Hi all it didn't work. I must have done something wrong. I have the new download but the trial starts at the beginning. The 2 games are stored in different places on my computer so I tried copying the LDW folder from my orginal game to the trial and that didn't work I still had a brand new game. But I had emailed the site Alawar.com where I bought the game and they just now sent me an update to install over my orginal game and that should fix the problem they said. I have 1hour and 48 minutes left before the download is done. Not sure how to install it over the one have but will try and figure it out. Wish me luck since my game now has over 80 people and 500,000 tech points, 5 totems, and the food is around 70,000. Will keep you informed. ^_^

well it didnt work for me either.. It did show up for me on the trial version but when i went back to my other one it wasnt there!

I didnt download this from reflexive but i'm having the same problem, i've done everything i can possible do, got all the technologies and all the other puzzles and that last piece of the gong just wont show up...

sigh... i'm not starting over, lol..no guarantee it would show up the 2nd time anyway i guess...

Where did you buy the game? When you look on the menu screen, what version does it say in the lower right corner?

Well it didn't work for me. When I installed the new download I had to start over. Lost both my old games. Saved and backed up the files but the new game would not use them. Have a long way to go both my new villages have slow stupid people in them. They won't stay at their tasks and take forever to learn. Thanks for the help and have fun playing.

I have been thinking of trying system restore to see if I can get my orginial games back but have been busy with real life and haven't had time to try or think it thru. My try today (Sunday) but afraid it will mess up everything. I will just have to wait to see if the new download will let me get the last piece that started this whole mess. Will let you know when the slow learners get that far. May take a while. lol
