In VV1 - every time I'd come back to the village after letting them go for a day or so, all the kids would be 6 years old. It was very annoying. I figured that'd be fixed in VV2 - but I just went to check on my original village folks and sure enough, all of the kids were 6 years old.
*sigh*

Your village will progress even when its off unless you pause it, so they will age even when your away, the only way to stop the game from progressing is to pause it. if your having issues with the pause there is a thread Here that you could read and add to if thats the case, otherwise, they will age even when your away.

No, they aren't "STUCK" at 6 forever, it is just that when I left, they were different ages, when I come back, they are ALL the SAME age - SIX. THEY ARE ALL SIX. I have 2-3-4 year olds when I leave, I have SIX YEAR OLDS when I come back.
It is ANNOYING. Then they age and have kids and when I come back ALL THOSE KIDS are SIX SIX SIX. ANNOYING. Eventually, I have a whole tribe where 1/4th of the people are all, say, 58, 1/4 of the people are all, say, 37, 1/4th of the people are all, say, 19, and 1/4th of the people are all SIX SIX SIX SIX SIX SIX SIX.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

That's odd. Haven't seen any other postings about that... maybe you should send your log to LadyCFII, with some details about your system)

It happened with VVI too. Basically, the puzzles would all be solved, there would be the max # of people, the villagers are pretty much living the easy life with plenty of food and all that. SO - I just let them live. Stop in every once in awhile to make sure they are still having babies and all that. It could be days or even weeks before I stop in the check on them though. Every time I do though, they have a ton of 6 year old kids.
To be honest, concidering that 2 hours is a year, a lifetime is 150 hours, or, about 6 days. So if I don't check in on them in a week, the whole population should have gone a full lifetime so there'd be all new people. That never happens. They never age the full time that they should when I've been gone that long. That makes me think that maybe there is a maximum amount of time that can go by if you don't play. Maybe 6 years???? I'm not sure... and that wouldn't really explain it because they aren't giving birth to all the kids THE SECOND that I log off. Anyway, I suspect it has something to do with how the code ticks out long amounts of time with no actual play.

Are you saying that know matter how long you are away the villagers never age? If that is so you probably have a glitch in your game. Because my game if I go away and leave my game on without checking in, all my villagers are normally dead unless I have a sizeable population, then I come back with a pile of skeletons. I think it would be rather nice to think I would have a chance to have masters because they managed to stay at six years old. Do thier tech points increase or do they also disappear along with thier ages?

If the game has been closed for a while and is reopened. the program plays catch-up; it works out all the happenings that would have happened while the program was closed. If it decides that babies should have been born they appear, but if you check on them they will all be aged 6. A lot will also appear to have the same mother, but different fathers; an impossibility since she wouldn't be able to produce them all in the same year.

Aha! Thanks Arnie!
(And, um, is that gonna be changed anytime soon? I hate the "6-year-old" feature.)
BTW - Blue - I guess it is only the babies that are born while I'm not playing that age up to six. They don't get to be masters at anything since they can't do anything as kids anyway, and I've never paid enough attention to the tech points since this only happens after all the puzzles are solved and I leave them running for a LONG time by without checking in on them. Usually by then I have 8-bazzilion tech points and nothing to do with them anyway so it doesn't matter. (Except in VVI, when you didn't get tech points after buying the last tech thing.)

You could always take the tech points, go to the sewing hut, and get a whole new wardrobe for the whole tribe!! I did it one time, was fun having that fashion show!!
