I remember one of my 1st posts in this forum was about dead villagers and PAUSED game.

My PAUSED game still runs when I QUIT the game at night, albeit at a slower speed (I presume). I know this because I get 'surprise' TOTEMS in the morning or 'surprise' Decomposing villagers by the Tech table when I run the game in the morning!

Since then I'll switch the game to 1/2 Speed and PAUSE then QUIT.

I've been putting this question off purely because it doesn't do any damage but I just want to get a clearer view on it.

Does that happen only when you get an Island Event when you launch the game?

No, It happens all the time actually. Since my post about the dead villagers in a PAUSED game.

I just didn't post my log file because I didn't know how to do it then (I'm too lazy to read instructions )

So is the game meant to go on even if I pause it and turn it off? Is there something to do with my PC clock? This could be happening to another gamer who's unaware of it too.. I hope I'm not the only one \:8

In all of our testing we have never seen a game keep running when it's set to pause and exited completely, so it's difficult to say why yours appears to continue running. It would probably take some effort to work with you to find out exactly what things you are doing and in what order before we could say for sure. The log files might help, but you would have to save a series of them in order to get a complete picture.

I'll do some testing first to see what I can determine.

hmmm, yesterday i noticed that it appeared that one of my games had somehow been running even though i had it paused. in the mornings even though i have limited time i check my folks to see if any have made it to masters. i start with the oldest and click down through the ages. i got about halfway through my people and i had to leave for work. i didnt want my folks to continue working on skills that they had already mastered so i paused the game. i wrote down the villager that i was on so i would know how far i had gotten. i got back on the game that evening and found villagers that i had seen that morning that hadnt mastered their skill had now done so, even though the game was paused. i think i had found 4 villagers that did this while the game was paused.

What screen did you leave your game on?

not sure if i'm understanding your question correctly ladycfii. i paused the game via the "options" button and then exited the game with the "quit" button. so i left no screen on. *shrugs*

OK, you didn't mention exiting the game, so I assumed that you paused the game and left it on.
