An opportunity to get it off your chest

I confess:
I give preferential treatment to villagers if I like their appearance;
I become very impatient with "ugly" villagers who won't do as they are told;
I talk to, coax and cajole my villagers;
I shout at them too;
I have killed a villager who disliked work (see "Do you have a story", pp.26-27)
I spend way too much time with my villagers and even miss favourite TV programmes!

I do all that too! LOL! Well except kill off my villagers. I just can't bring myself to do it.

I feel very bad about killing my villager, that's why I wanted to start an online confessional LOL

I do that too, except I haven't killed anyone yet and won't unless they are really an anathema. And I hate the fact that I tend to favor villagers based of appearence. It's something society has been doing enough of in the real world... but I admit that is what I do.

Yeah, it's strange how many issues in VV mirror the real world. You bring all our prejudices with us, even if we are not aware we have any!

how do you kill off someone???

Hi rebecca, read the story on thread "Do you have a story, pages 26-27. Think several times about killing someone off, you might end up feeling really guilty about it like me

There is probably more than one way to do it, but the only way I know of is to [start highlighting here] make stew using three black herbs and force the villager to eat it 5 or 6 times until he dies.[end highlighting here]. Although they are only pixels, it is easy to grow attached to them, and killing them does seem wrong. I have felt very bad when villagers I became attached to, who worked hard and were instrumental in solving many puzzles, eventually died of old age before they could rest and enjoy the village after everything was completed.

I was about to kill one - then I just used her for geting sick and training doctors. About the time I named her LazyGirl - she became a Master Scientist. Just goes to show - never give up on anyone. They may surprise you.

It is rather sad that we actually care about our little villagers as if they had real feelings, when we are the ones with the feelings.
I can't kill my little people off. This game is very different from the last one. They will sit in some lonely little place and say they are feeling just a little bit lonely.
They actually age.
I too have favorites. It has nothing to do with thier work ethics.
Just some of them are just to cute. I'd like to just pinch the cheeks of some of those tiny little kids. NUTS! I know.

I know it sounds awful...but I would kill off the people that hate running. They're a waste of space and drive me crazy...because they move like old people! grrr...

To feeling a little like I was trying to teach a petulant villager to do research by continuing to drop them at the table - - as I was trying to get my daughter to brush her teeth, wash her face, brush her hair and get ready to go to school this morning!!! I even called her my little villager. She kept wandering away too!

Tootsie Pop Heads? Could we have a screen shot? There is one particular male villager I would gladly ... well, I suppose not so gladly, but I hate it when he shows up. He looks like an old man from the moment his mother drops him, and it just goes downhill from there.

Carrie, that made me laugh so much. My sister has six children and she's decided she should have made a tape recording - several in fact - years ago, one to play in the morning, one for mealtimes, one for bedtimes etc. Says she's getting sick of the sound of her own voice

There's a pic of the guy I'm talking about in the thread called "Villager's Cosmetic Procedure Goes Horribly Wrong." The photo is labeled "Coconut Head", which seems equally applicable to the unfortunate villager in question.

I judge them on appearance! My most attractive (whoa, that's weird in itself) villager is a runner too, so he's my absolute favourite. I get angry with him when he knocks up the ugly girls (that'll learn me for making him an adept parent). I also get mad when two attractive parents end up with an ugly kid. I could never kill them though, I sent an ugly one to investigate voices and he never returned - he was one of the original children and the first loss, I was DEVESTATED.

Stupid game! It needs to stop making me late for work too.

I admit...I'm superficial...
I forcibly stop the ones I consider "unnatractive" from having children with other unnatractive villagers. There's about four kids with afros because I just now realized I can stop them (I've only had the game three days lol)
and...slave driving..."if you're SO worried about food why did you STOP building the dam!?"

My son bred the mohawk guy with the red hair girl (the one with the round bun or jewel on her head)and they had 7 beautiful girls. After that I have been testing the theory and sometimes the ugliest looking villagers have the prettiest children. He also has a lazy girl on his game (same girl), and today she is an Esteemed Elder. She has 9 children of her own and with a lot of hard word, she is now 62 years old and is able to do as she pleases. This is his first time playing and he is quite proud of himself!!

i know it's mean, but.......when my villagers become Eseemed Elders, i instantly kill them.........pls don't ask my why......

I confess i force my villagers to work and the kids to only have lessons until 12pm

I love this! I am not sure if I have anything new to confess that some of you haven't already confessed to. I am guilty of just about all of it. I think the point is we do get emotionally involved with our villages. I know I do. Another thing it is a great way to relieve stress and pass time which might otherwise be very boring. LOL

I just love the cute little kids too! They're adorable.

I felt like killing this one woman who would not work at anything. All she wanted to do was enjoy the pond. LOL I do wish there was a jail to confine the loafers in for a few days.

I confess that I felt like bumping off one villager. He was the oldest kid right at the start of the game and had a dislike of 'learning'. I put him on the research table and had to keep dragging him back to work umpteen times before he finally made trainee scientist. After that, although he failed in his task often, at least he went back to work without prompting from me and eventually made master scientist. I tried retraining him as both a farmer and a builder but decided life was too short and in the end I've left him to carry on researching.

Although he's been a real pain, I never seriously considered poisoning him, however much I was tempted.

46 children on the darn island and i miss a rare collectible because i can't find (and catch) a single one of them!

I have never really done anything bad to my villagers!
I kinda treat them like "real" people.

I don't think this is bad:
I confess to repeatedly making the elderly women kiss the the men to make them become master parents before they die. Is this bad? I don't think so, I mean they get lots of love before they pass on! lol

I would like a thing where you could give a little smack to someone when they won't stay where they are supossed to! I sware one girl, if I had to drop her at the research table one more time I would freak! lol All the other ones I was trying to get to be Master scientists just worked but she kept walking away!

I just checked on them and she is now a Master Scientist and they are only adepts! now I'm mad at them lol

I have to report that I have a female villager who does not like work, so I put her on healing duties. She became an adept doctor, just wandering around studying strange plants. Then, just as an experiment, I put her on farming (no boxes ticked!) and she became adept at farming. She still refuses to research, but she's really not so bad and is the prettiest villager I have ever seen. Thinking of breeding her now, but with whom????
BTW It is a complete myth that the uglies breed better looking villagers, it is just random LOL

i also miss out on favorite tv shows
but i like stranding bad villagers that are kids on a island in the pond on vv2.

i confess that i used one of the elderly women to gain "parenting skills" for my male villagers. and i don't stop "using" her until i make them master parents (it is due to my desire to make more esteemed elders).

i haven't finished vv2:lost children yet but i am planning on killing villagers if i had to. since in this game, women stopped breeding at 50 and when i maximized my population and ran out of children and nobody is old enough to die yet, i need to force somebody to die to make room for the young generations, to ensure continuity of the tribe.

I have killed a KID for being the daughter of Nunai and Ahi instead of Nunai and lock . I have guilt

once i shouted at a villager who hated work and learning I'LL BE HAPPY WHEN YOU DIE!
