In VV1, you needed the school before kids inherited skills. I haven't advanced enough yet to be sure, but I'm assuming in VV2 you'd need something similar, like a certain level of culture tech maybe. I'm sure one of the more advanced players will let you know for sure though.

I have a child born to a master scientist and a master builder. He has a like of rocks. I was wondering if he inherited his like of rocks from his master builder father and maybe he'll become a master builder quicker than most. Don't know yet as he's only 9 years old. I have been waiting to see if we even build a school in VV2. So far I've seen no sign (no place to build one, that is) of a school building, but I only have level 2 in everything so maybe I have to get to level three in Architecture or Culture or something.

I have level 2 culture, and I get lots of skills applied to my kids when they are attending lessons. A lot of them are being birthed by skilled villagers, too. I'm not sure what's causing it, but it's happening. One of my kids I think will already be at trainee level once he's old enough to work! I like it, because it makes it so much easier to pick their interests, when you know what their aptitudes are ahead of time.

So, Neddog, you have noticed that when an adult is teaching the children that afterwards some of the children's skill bar have gone up? I have only tried teaching children a couple of times and never noticed the difference in the children's skill bars, just in the adult teaching -- their parenting skill goes up. I'm an not challenging what you are saying, just asking if you think I need to teach more often.

Yes, I think you should, Simsane. I have been teaching regularly now, and there is a definite pattern. They are all learning from it (not according to your preference choice, but according to what I assume is their natural aptitude). The parent I'm using is both an esteemed elder as well as a master parent, so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it, either.

Just finally read your response, Neddog, had to look over my own posts to find it, LOL! I'll try more often then to see. I finally have a master parent who is also a master researcher, but I don't know how much longer she'll live. Anyway, I'll try her. Thanks for the advice.
