1. I'm at a pop. level of 14 in VV2 right now, and I have two women who can 'breed'. However, I have had 5 children since starting the game, and ALL of them have been girls. Is there something special you can do to get a male baby? Because if this keeps up, I'm going to run out of guys.

2. I think this may be either a small _bug_ or an... I don't know. But my game's clock seems to be running super slow. When a mother is said to be nursing for 120 minutes (this is on 2x speed) It will take her an hour just to get to 105 minutes. Example: I woke up this morning and opened up VV2. Nursing mother was at 68 minutes. I played for about half an hour and checked her again. 57 minutes. Is it supposed to be this slow?

Note on #2- this also applies to new crops. Not sure about the fire yet.

1. Nope, it's completly random on which gender you'll get.
2. That's odd. It shouldn't be that slow. I suppose LadyCFII will be able to figure this one out. \:\)

Firecloud, are you adjusting your computer's system clock to try to speed up the game? That will always cause problems with aging, nursing and crops.

I ran some tests here after a similar complaint about nursing times being off. I ran 3 tests, 3 different tribes, keeping pretty good tabs on the nursing times remaining.

Mostly, they were right on, if you consider that the times are not updated every minute. In fact on 1/2 speed, I saw only times that were evenly divisible by 10.

The only anomaly I observed was that at all three speeds the time nursing reached zero and remained that way for some period that seems to be related to game speed... about 5 minutes at 2x, 10 minutes at normal speed and 16-17 minutes at 1/2 speed. That seems to be a _bug_ which was also in VV1.

The reason that I asked about the system clock is that Firecloud also mentioned crops. Although the nursing timer display is not all that precise, the crop timer is very accurate. \:\)

I understand and agree that the nursing timer is not all that precise. It's close enough for most all purposes. But, the time for nursing is advertised to be 2 years, not 2 years plus something. The nursing timer displayed does indeed go to zero at the proper time. It would seem to me that if a test for minutes nursing equals zero then that should signal a drop of the child. We often wait anxiously for that event. That test (and the drop) should be done after it is decreased periodically, not at the next scheduled decrease time. That's the _bug_ I was talking about, not the inaccuracy in the nursing timer.

Get the facts first - we can distort them later.

I don't necessarily agree that a programming choice (that you don't agree with) = _bug_, but it is annoying to see. \:D It's been that way since Village Sim, but it wasn't visible to the player until the game came to the desktop!

Very well, but a rose is a rose, no matter if you choose to call it a programming choice or not.

Jer

Feature = _bug_ with seniority

No, I don't use time travel with my villagers, I don't want to risk anything until I've backed up some big files. But what Jer was talking about, with the time decreased by integers, this doesn't sound like that. unless the integer is 20-30 minutes per hour.
