Why are my farmers OBSESSED with watering their fields? It never fails, if I have an empty field, every farmer I have will be watering it, even if I have ZERO food. They don't go for coconuts, and they never fish on their own. Even when I lose 2 children to starvation, and a full 1/4 of my population set for farming, they just keep on watering. I'm beinging to think the only reason they even harvest crops is so they can plant and water the next one.....

I know.... it bugs me too.

I have to constantly throw them into the ocean or make them collect coconuts if there was an algae problem in the beginning.

Eventually when the crops are ready to be harvested, the villagers go pick coconuts instead!!!

This is a known _bug_ and theres a fix for it in the upcomming patch,

does anyone else have the following problem
everytime I quit my farmers stop gathering food wheather its for an hour or four it doesn't matter. when I come back and the food is depleted and the farmers are just standing there. master famers included. It seems there's a problem with the time calculation for food supply and farm labor, because the levels of achievement are also unchanged from the time I quit to the time I come back.

What level of farming tech do you have? Have you checked the game log to see what they were doing? There's a sticky post that describes how to access the game log, if you've never looked at it before.

Leo, it's the same thing that happening to me, only your not watching it happen. When you quit the game, your farmers are probaly just watering crops instead of going fishing or coconuting (:p) Your people eat all the food and nothing gets gathered.
