Have i missed something??

I have all the collections and the gong - I have totems and esteemed elders - my people happily go about fishing etc etc etc - I have completed all the puzzles.

Whats the ending??

I cant see any cave or anything like that - so i am a bit confused - what is the ending??

There isn't really an ending, per se. Virtual Villagers: The Lost Children, like all of our real-time games, is designed to be open-ended. Each game has clear goals, but the games can continue to go on and allow you to play as long as you like. The Island Events will continue to happen, which can dramatically change the way things are going for your villagers, particularly the events that only happen late in the game. Once you get tired of your current game, you can do like most people do and play the game again on different settings and/or try different strategies, perhaps creating new challenges for yourself.

Thanks lady - I would have liked to have seen an ending where they maybe built a boat and some headed of to find new land - that would have given it a feel of an ending but opened it up for VV3 and still the remainders on the island could have continued life.

There is an island event where a group of villagers builds a boat and sets off into the unknown. However, I suspect this is just a device to in effect kill off a number of villagers. In VV1 there are a couple of similar events where a villager discovers something and is never heard from again. They don't seem to be pointers to VV2, though.
