Hey all - first post! I am just curious if the mods that were created for the game work with mac's or not? If so, how would you go about applying them since we don't have a C:/Mydocuments, etc folder? Thanks so much!

These mods don't go into the My Documents folder; they go into the game's Images folder. My Macs are all at home right now and I'm not, so I can't give you step-by-step instructions, but they should work on a Mac, as well.

Hmm, can't seem to find that. I am sort of new to Mac's and all i have is the idwlog.txt file and the Virtual Villagers folder, but all that is in there is the link to start the game. Where would the Image's folder be? Sorry for the ignorance!

I'm not too sure about Macs, but I'll have a try. Is there a program called Virtual Villagers - The Lost Children? It should be in where all the other main programs are.

I'm not exactly sure how it would work with Macs, and I won't have access to one for a week to test it out, but I might be able to help.

The link to the program, I'm assuming, would be a shortcut. I'm not exactly sure how they work on Macs , but maybe if I explain how to find it on PC it will help you or someone else find it.

Open the properties menu for the shortcut. I'm not sure how to do it on Macs, put you right click the icon on PCs and click properties from the menu. You will get a dialog box like this. Just click on the circled button and it takes you right were you need to go.

Again, this is going by a PC. I hope it helps finding the right folder on a Mac. Sorry if it doesn't.

Macs don't work anything like PCs when it comes to locating applications. \:D

To access the Images folder on a Mac, right-click (ctrl-click) on the Virtual Villagers application icon and click Show Package Contents. Open the Contents folder, then the Resources folder and you'll see the Images folder where the mods need to be placed. \:\)

Hmm, so I sound the folder, but when I went to drag the contents in it said, there is already a file that exists, would you like to replace? Do you replace them to get the mods? And if you do, how do you get the game back to normal after the holidays are over?! Sorry for being so ignorant on this matter, I am new to VV2 and so close to finishing the game I don't want to [censored] it up!

(This goes for all mods, not just on Macs, Windows as well)

Before installing the mod, create a new folder within the images folder - call it 'Backup' or similar. Select all the files in the images folder, then choose 'copy' then paste them into the new Backup folder.

Then install the mod to the images folder. You will be asked if you want to replace existing files; say yes to all. Open the game and your mod should be working.

If/when you want to remove the mod go to the Backup folder, select all, copy, then paste the files into the images folder; again, say yes when asked if you want to overwrite the files. Your game will be back to normal when you open it again.

Yea, I figured a Mac would be really different, but I hoped that describing that method would at least help someone figure out an easy way to find the folder on Macs. I have to use a Mac in my one class, and I've never even tried locating files on one of those.
