Also, none of my other people have farming skill. Do I need to retrain someone in order to fish?

It's possible. Just VERY hard too. Yes you do need to retrain them to farm and fish.

If I remember correctly, there is another source of food besides fish and berries..

Perhaps your farmer that hates fish can tend to that source, while you teach a different villager to fish?

Yes, but that would solve the problem of what to do with villagers who do refuse to learn, work, or run!

in VV3, perhaps there could be two roads to winning the game - a "good" road, and an "evil" road - both equally valid. If you are a kind and benevolent player, you could inspire your villagers to work harder by rewarding them with a delicious fish stew.. the evil path would inspire villagers to work harder by making the stew from the villagers who spend their time enjoying the pool or dancing. And when ya run out of loafers to sacrifice, start in on the ones with bad haircuts!
