Oh i'm so jealous! I just got my first kid who does *NOT* like to run! hmmm, stew? I don't "stew" the non-runners, I make the researchers if they are male and parents if they are female. I clocked the non-runner taking a sheel from the beach next to the crate to the research hut, 2 min.

Second time through the game for me; didn't get a runner first time, didn't even know what it was... until like Arnie, one of my guys that came over the falls was a runner. What a blessing! Have about 10 kids now (can't remember how many adults) and they're allll boys. Argh!

I appreciate the value of a good runner, but don't they make you feel tired sometimes with all that activity? Sometimes I just want to make them slow down a bit, take a breath. Then I had a villager with a dislike of running, she was so painful to watch. When she was only two I made her pick up a precious pebble and she slowly walked it to the research hut, only to lose it on the way. She did eventually crawl her way to elder status, but it was so difficult to watch. On balance runners are, of course, a lot better value.

I know what you mean, Treen. In one game I started the guy who came over the falls was a runner, plus the oldest kid. I had them on building and farming, with the girl who also came over the falls static at the research table. She was the only one not moving at a dizzying speed; what with the two runners plus four kids zooming about I nearly went cross-eyed! Thankfully, I've never (yet) had a villager with a dislike of running early on in the game; later on it doesn't matter so much.
