I finished my puzzles and was nursing my village along with a few elders, learning some shortcuts and waiting on that last elusive beetle when I decided to start a new village. Well, those villagers were just ugly and one didn't like to run so I started a third village. YES! I got two runners and one of them had a favorable island event. I paused the other two villages (I thought) and played with village 3 all day yesterday. Here I am today reading the forum and Lady CFI mentioned checking a log for events, which I did and there's a list of names of villagers in village 1 with today's date. I switched over, and IT WASN'T PAUSED! The village was littered with the dead, weakened, sick. No fire. A load of 30yo with no skills. OMG! I feel like such a bad parent. I did make a healing stew and dragged everyone to it. Fortunately they have about 18,000 food. But, can you say Hurricane Body_Double? I'd laugh if I weren't crying. There were a few totems laying around too, so that's cool but their owners are in the graveyard.

I feel for your pain. We had a power outage here not too long ago that lasted for 36 hours, so I can certainly relate.
