when my kids are sick in VV2, I tried to put an adult on my little sick babies, the childern refused them. However, when I dropped a kid on them, they let the childern heal them. Has this happened to anyone else, or am I seeing things?.... just a thought

Borg's right, I'm sure, but I have also noticed that my kids become trainee doctors (and it's the only occupation I have found so far that will say that--in other words, I don't have a clue how to make them trainee builders or farmers, etc. not that it's not possible, I just haven't figured out how) and once they are 14, it really easy to make them adept doctors. But trying to get an adept doctor to progress without interference, seems pretty difficult to me.

You can't.

Kids (< 14) can heal the sick, and if they gain enough skill at this, they can get the title of trainee doctor. But until they grow up (>= 14) they cannot train in any other specialty.

There are other ways kids can get those skills and titles - for example, island events.

Any villager of any age can heal another. However, they will fail sometimes. The more healing skill a villager has, the less likely they will fail. If a villager fails to heal another either keep trying or try another villager.

kids can heal in vv1 also, i just played vv1 on the hard setting and it worked !!

I had a rather strange occurrence where a 5 year old female had some parental skill and was in fact a trainee parent. Not sure how this happened nor how exactly she practised being a parent, little concerned as to what goes on in my village when my back is turned.

Probably an event. I know there is one where they watch the mother bird and all the children get some parenting skill. I had a few kids born with a bit of parenting, and when that event happened, I ended up with a batch of8 year old trainee parents.

also depends cause you could breed two master parents and get a child with some skill...not sure but i guess it could happen

I thought a kid who made it to 14 as an adept healer might be easier to become a master doctor. Not so! They don't like to study after they turn 14.

actually, you *can* make kids under 14 get some builder skill, with a little creative "cooking".

Have you tried putting the GC on a sick person? interesting! maybe there is more to this guy than being a party animal! Sorry, you are talking VV2.

Interesting about being able to gain builder skill via the "cooking" route. I don't see any mention of that in the several recipe files I've downloaded. And the two stews that seem promising with an offer of a burst of energy (exercising) don't seem to have the better builder effect.
